Localization Management

Localization Management is available for Windows, Android, and iOS clients.

Language Selection Setting

Supported on: Windows client 2.2.0 and later.

You can allow the user to set the language for Open Mobile or you can set the language here.

If you allow the user to set the language, you have to set a default language. You can set the default language to:

  • U.S. English
  • German
  • Spanish
  • French
  • Japanese
  • Auto-detect (Open Mobile will select the language based on the users settings)

If you set the language, you can select:

  • U.S. English
  • German
  • Spanish
  • French
  • Japanese

Language Resource File Download/Upload

Supported on: Windows (client version 2.2.0 and later), Android (client version 2.7.0 and later), iOS (client version 3.1.0 and later).

An XML file with all the strings that can be customized in the Open Mobile Portal can be downloaded for localization in all of the supported pages.

To localize customized messages:

  1. Click Download English translation template to download an XML file with all possible customized strings (including messages that have not been customized or enabled).
  2. Have the strings translated. You should make sure that the translator preserves the XML format and all of the tags.
  3. After you receive the translations, return to the Localization Management page.
  4. Next to the appropriate language, click Browse. Navigate to the translated XML file and click Open. The name of the translated file will appear in the box. Repeat this process for each translated language.
  5. When all of your translated files have been uploaded, click Save.

If you decide to set a single language (on a Windows client 2.2.0 or later, see Language Selection Setting above), the other language resource files that you upload will be erased (after the change is saved). If you need those other language resource files and they are not otherwise available, make sure that they are stored locally before setting a single language.
