Configure Connection Policy

Peer-to-Peer Connections

Available for iPass for Windows version 2.4.0 and later

If Disable peer-to-peer networks is not selected, users can use iPass to connect to ad hoc, peer-to-peer networks (created through Windows). Note: Selecting the check box will disable this feature.

Due to a limitation in the Operating System, connecting to some ad hoc networks may not work on Windows XP.

Internet Connection Sharing

Available for iPass for Windows version 2.4.0 and later

If Disable connection sharing is not selected, users can right-click on an Ethernet or Mobile Broadband connection and select Share to share their connection. Note: Selecting the check box will disable this feature.

Auto-Connect

Available for: Windows, Mac, and Android (2.6.0 and later) clients

Auto-Connect for Android (2.6.0 and later), Windows, and Mac clients

Select Allow users to enable Auto-Connect to Wi-Fi networks to give users the option to enable auto-connect, which will automatically connect them to Wi-Fi networks when available. If you enable this feature, you can choose to have the initial (default) setting as On or Off by selecting an option from the drop-down list.

Users have to have their credentials saved locally for the Auto-Connect feature to work.

Auto-Login

Available for: iOS clients.

If you wish to permit users to enable automatic login to hotspots already known to iOS, select Allow users to enable Auto-Login to Wi-Fi networks.

For iOS clients 3.0.x and later, select Allow Auto-Login while application is in the background to enable automatic login to hotspots even while the application is not open.

Auto-Login will only apply to hotspots to which the user has previously connected, and the iOS device cannot be in sleep mode (that is, the screen should be on).
